En plus d’une collaboration inédite avec la marque streetwear néerlandaise DAILY PAPER (article dispo ICI), le pionnier japonais G-SHOCK présente le deuxième modèle signature du joueur de la NBA Rui Hachimura, la GM-110RH.
En 2019, Rui Hachimura devient le premier ressortissant japonais sélectionné au premier tour de la draft NBA et rejoint les Washington Wizards. Ses excellentes performances font de lui un atout majeur pour son équipe. Grand fan de la marque G-Shock depuis son plus jeune âge, Rui Hachimura signe un partenariat avec le label japonais en novembre 2019.
Le premier modèle signature, le G-Shock GST-B100RH, sort en 2020. Le deuxième opus est basé sur le modèle de la GM-110 et met à l’honneur la Terre ancestrale du talentueux basketteur. Cette montre arbore un design inspiré du drapeau national du Bénin, rouge jaune, vert. Le cadran se pare élégamment de ces couleurs : l’aiguille des heures jaune, celle des minutes rouge, le cadran inséré vert et le pont en forme de Y offre une bel hommage et une visibilité optimale. Le coffret de la GM-110RH bénéficie de 2 bracelets en uréthane, l’un de couleur noire unie et l’autre comportant des motifs faisant référence à l’artisanat béninois et au tissu Kente d’Afrique de l’ouest. Sur ce dernier, la boucle s’habillent de rouge, jaune et vert. Pour compléter le look, le logo « Black Samurai » signature de Rui Hachimura est gravé à l’arrière du boîtier et sur la boucle métallique du bracelet noir.
La montre est livrée dans un écrin co-brandé reprenant le design d’inspiration africaine.
Rui Hachimura a déclaré à propos de la GM-110RH : « La montre s’inspire de mes racines du Bénin et d’Afrique qui sont très importantes pour moi. The first signature model, the G-Shock GST-B100RH, is released in 2020. The second release is based on the GM-110 model and features the talented basketball player’s ancestral roots. This watch features a design inspired by the national flag of Benin, red yellow, green. The dial is elegantly adorned with these colors : the yellow hour hand, the red minute hand, the green inset dial and the Y-shaped bridge offer a beautiful tribute and optimal visibility. The GM-110RH case comes with 2 urethane straps, one in solid black and the other with motifs referring to Beninese craftsmanship and West African Kente fabric. On the latter, the buckle is dressed in red, yellow and green. To complete the look, Rui Hachimura’s signature « Black Samurai » logo is engraved on the back of the case and on the metal buckle of the black strap.
The watch comes in a co-branded case featuring the African-inspired design.
