Pour poursuivre la célébration des 50 ans du Hip Hop, des events et produits spéciaux nous sont proposés. Après Herbby et son magazine Collector « Hip-Hop 50 », l’association culturelle toulousaine SOUND WORKERZ vient d’annoncer la date de son prochain event nommé « Where is my Hip Hop ».
Organisé sur 2 jours, « Where is my Hip Hop » vise à célébrer la musique hip hop et tout son environnement. Depuis sa création en 1973, le hip hop est une culture unificatrice et sans barrières, qui a influencé le monde entier. Ce style musical s’ouvre, se diversifie et s’étend vers de nouveaux styles et de nouvelles pratiques. Le samedi est destiné à découvrir et développer une passion. Tandis que le dimanche est davantage orienté professionnalisme.
Défendant l’inclusivité, l’event WHERE IS MY HIP HOP mettra à lumière tous les domaines de la culture hip hop. Il se tiendra au cœur de la ville rose, à TOULOUSE YNOV CAMPUS, situé place de l’Europe.
- Au programme de cet event, le 1er jour :
Une BROCANTE HIP HOP de 14h à 17h. 10 personnes auront l’opportunité de vendre leurs items enclin à la culture Hip Hop dans la salle Fika.
La candidature est libre, sous réserve d’un examen des items et de cohérence avec la thématique.
Des ATELIERS organisés afin d’explorer les différents domaines du hip hop et de s’imprégner de cette culture. Plusieurs initiations seront proposées : écriture, interprétation de texte, graffiti sur papier et sur film étirable, du deejaying avec la pratique du scratch et du mixage, de la danse avec le choix du Breaking, de la House, du NewStyle et/ou du Locking, et la pratique du Beatboxing.
Pour candidater, il suffit de présenter un CV retraçant l’expérience dans l’un de ces domaines.
Un JAM dans la salle Souk. Durant 3 heures – de 18h30 à 22h – prendra place un moment dédié au partage et à la convivialité. Sur les rythmes du DJ, chacun profitera de circle vibes dans le but de s’exprimer corporellement, qu’importe le style de danse.
- Le 2ème jour, d’autres thèmes seront explorés et analysés :
Une TABLE-RONDE de 14h30 à 16h, dans la salle 301, avec une Conférence et un débat sur ce qu’est le Hip Hop, ce qu’il devient et vers quoi il tend. L’objectif est de rendre compte des nouveautés autour d’un récapitulatif trimestriel réservé à tour de rôle à chaque domaine d’activité (digital, éducation, économique, technologique, politique…). Alpha’B sera présent, ainsi que d’autres intervenants. La candidature est encore ouverte à tous.
Un POP-UP STORE sera ouvert de 16h à 19h dans la salle Souk. 2 stands de jeunes marques streetwear/gorpcore/artisanales/friperie, dévoileront leurs produits.
La candidature est libre, sous réserve d’avoir du stock et d’un examen de cohérence avec la thématique.
Un CYPHER et surtout la BATTLE Bonnie and Clyde – 2vs2 – Top 8 – sera l’événement phare de la fin de journée : 30 minutes de Circle Vibes ouvriront la soirée. Une démonstration des juges lancera la Battle. Un rappeur/beatbox vs rappeur/beatbox créera la surprise le temps d’une pause avant la finale.
Le Cypher aura lieu de 16h30 à 17h et la Battle de 17h à 18h30.
Candidature = 4 duos challengers + 4 duos guests.
Tout au long de ces 2 jours, les participants pourront profiter d’une EXPOSITION spéciale – dans l’agora, le Souk et la cage d’escaliers – mettant en lumière 4 artistes de l’école YNOV.
La candidature est libre.
Aussi, la totalité de l’événement sera suivi par une caméra 360° permettant de réaliser un reportage immersif. L’entièreté de la journée sera filmée par une équipe de tournage Tinocle.film, mêlant interview, plan séquence et plan fixe afin de réaliser un format documentaire de l’événement.
Pour se restaurer, le food truck La Parenthèse sera sur place.
L’event « WHERE IS MY HIP HOP » prendra place le samedi 6 et dimanche 7 avril 2024. organisé par l’association Sound Workerz au sein de YNOV CAMPUS TOULOUSE (2 place de l’Europe Toulouse), il vise à accueillir un grand nombre de personnes, autant d’étudiants que de personnes extérieures, ainsi que d’adhérents des associations garonnaises.
Sound Workerz a expliqué : « Un point d’honneur est posé sur l’intégration du public issu des quartiers prioritaires de la ville. Les différents centres socioculturels toulousains sont invités dans le but de faire découvrir à leurs membres, les évolutions et opportunités du Hip Hop dans les milieux culturels et professionnels. Que ce soit par le biais d’un loisir ou d’un métier, la culture HipHop offre à tout un chacun un avenir. Et c’est ce que nous voulons montrer. »
Organized over 2 days, « Where is my Hip Hop » aims to celebrate hip hop music and its environment. Since its inception in 1973, hip hop has been a unifying, barrier-free culture that has influenced the entire world. This musical style is opening up, diversifying and expanding into new styles and practices. Saturday is for discovering and developing a passion. Sundays, on the other hand, are more professionally oriented.
Defending inclusivity, WHERE IS MY HIP HOP will highlight all areas of hip hop culture. It will be held in the heart of the Pink City, at TOULOUSE YNOV CAMPUS, on Place de l’Europe.
- On the program for day 1 :
A HIP HOP BRANCANTE from 2pm to 5pm. 10 people will have the opportunity to sell their Hip Hop-related items in the Fika room.
Entries are free, subject to examination of items and consistency with the theme.
WORKSHOPS are organized to explore the various fields of hip hop and immerse yourself in this culture. We’ll be offering a range of initiations : writing, text interpretation, graffiti on paper and stretch film, deejaying with scratch and mix practice, dance with a choice of Breaking, House, NewStyle and/or Locking, and Beatboxing practice.
To apply, all you need to do is submit a CV outlining your experience in one of these fields.
A JAM in the Souk room. For 3 hours – from 6.30pm to 10pm – we’ll be taking part in a moment dedicated to sharing and conviviality. To the rhythms of the DJ, everyone will enjoy circle vibes with the aim of expressing themselves physically, whatever their dance style.
- On Day 2, other themes will be explored and analyzed :
A ROUND TABLE from 2.30pm to 4pm, in room 301, with a conference and debate on what Hip Hop is, what it’s becoming and where it’s heading. The aim is to report on what’s new around a quarterly roundup reserved in turn for each field of activity (digital, education, economics, technology, politics…). Alpha’B will be present, along with other speakers. Applications are still open.
A POP-UP STORE will be open from 4pm to 7pm in the Souk room. 2 stands of young streetwear/gorpcore/artisanal/friperie brands will unveil their products.
Applications are open to all, subject to stock availability and a test of consistency with the theme.
A CYPHER and above all the Bonnie and Clyde BATTLE – 2vs2 – Top 8 – will be the highlight of the evening: 30 minutes of Circle Vibes will open the evening. A demonstration by the judges will kick off the Battle. A rapper/beatbox vs rapper/beatbox will create a surprise during the break before the final.
The Cypher will take place from 4.30pm to 5pm, and the Battle from 5pm to 6.30pm.
Entries = 4 duos challengers + 4 duos guests
Throughout the 2 days, participants will be able to enjoy a special EXHIBITION – in the agora, Souk and stairwell – featuring 4 artists from the YNOV school.
Entries are free.
The entire event will be followed by a 360° camera for immersive reporting. The entire day will be filmed by a Tinocle.film crew, combining interviews, sequence shots and stills to create a documentary format of the event.
For a bite to eat, La Parenthèse food truck will be on hand.
The « WHERE IS MY HIP HOP » event will take place on Saturday April 6 and Sunday April 7, 2024. Organized by the Sound Workerz association at YNOV CAMPUS TOULOUSE (2 place de l’Europe Toulouse), it aims to welcome a large number of people, both students and outsiders, as well as members of Garonne associations.
Sound Workerz explained : « We place great emphasis on integrating people from the city’s priority districts. Toulouse’s various socio-cultural centers are invited to help their members discover Hip Hop’s evolution and opportunities in cultural and professional circles. Whether as a hobby or a profession, HipHop culture offers everyone a future. And that’s what we want to show. »
