La ville de Toulouse organise et accueille de nombreux évènements axés sur la découverte musicale. Après le succès du festival OZ Occitanie édition 2, c’est au tour de l’agence de développement culturel BAJO EL MAR de dévoiler la programmation de la 6ème édition du WKND HIPHOP.
Le WKND HIPHOP est un temps fort 100% rap dans la ville rose, qui permet d’explorer les univers d’artistes aux influences diverses.
Cette 6ème édition sera l’occasion de découvrir ou de profiter des concerts d’artistes émergeants : JWLES et MAIRO le vendredi, puis COELHO et MOJI x SBOY le samedi.
Vivant jusqu’à ses 8 ans à New York, JWLES est un rappeur qui trouve l’inspiration chez des artistes issus du jazz, du rap des années 90, de la scène actuelle, mais aussi de l’electro et du reggae. Il offre une musique innovante, croisant les genres et fuyant le conformisme, caractérisée par des textes imagés, un flow unique, des punchlines décalées et des productions aussi minimalistes que versatiles. Après avoir connu un intérêt prometteur avec son album ‘Le Zin & les autres’ en 2022, JWLES a sorti son projet ‘Le Zin Dans La Maison’ cette année.
Né en 1995 en Suisse, à Neuchâtel, MAIRO est un rappeur d’origine érythréennes qui rappe depuis l’âge de 13 ans. Avec sa technique, son style, son flow et ses choix de prods, il est devenu en quelques années un artiste très apprécié de la nouvelle scène rap francophone. Son projet solo sorti en 2017 ‘365’ a mis la lumière sur cet artiste. En 2 ans, Mairo s’impose comme un incontournable Genevois avec un Colors Show, son EP ‘Rougemort’ et des singles marquants comme ‘Eritriste’ ou ‘Coupe gorge’. 2023 est une année important pour l’artiste et son public. Avec son EP ‘Omar chappier’, le genèvois goûte à la réelle popularité : 1M de streams en une semaine, un concert à la Maroquinerie de Paris qui affiche complet en 24h et une Machine du Moulin Rouge annoncée dans la foulée.
Originaire de Nantes, COELHO est un réel technicien du rap qui s’exerce depuis de nombreuses années. Il inscrit son nom parmi les nouveaux talents à partir de 2017 avec la sortie de son 1er projet nommé ‘Philadelphia’ et créé avec son frère Be Dar, un compositeur multi-instrumentaliste. En 2018, il se fait repérer par le label Mezoued Records et sort ‘Vanités’, un projet lui permettant de gagner en popularité et d’assurer les 1ère parties de la tournée des Zéniths de Vald et des concerts de Sniper en 2019. Après plusieurs projets populaires, Coelho a été connu du grand public lors de sa participation et avec sa place parmi les finalistes à la saison 2 de l’émission-concours ‘Nouvelle Ecole’ de Netflix. Il a ensuite dévoilé son nouveau projet ‘Le soleil ne s’éteint jamais’.
MOJI x SBOY est un duo de rappeurs prometteurs qui se démarque de par leur style unique alliant émotions, mélodies et univers profond. Ces artistes sont porteurs d’un étendard, d’une proposition unique, nourrissant énormément d’attente auprès d’un public avant-gardiste. Leur 1ère mixtape ‘Temps d’aime’ sort en juin 2021, dans laquelle ils collaborent avec le regretté Luv Resval. Le morceau ‘Ma go’ est certifié single d’or en 2022. La même année, le duo s’engage dans une tournée dans toute la France et la Belgique, et sort des morceaux innovants qui connaissent un beau succès. Toujours dans une dynamique avant-gardiste et polyvalente, Moji x Siboy ont sorti leur dernier EP cette année, ‘Automne’.
La 6ème édition du WKND HIPHOP aura lieu les 17 et 18 novembre 2023 à partir de 20h00 dans la salle de spectacle du Metronum de Toulouse. Le prix de l’entrée est de 23,80€ par soirée, accessible ICI. Living in New York until he was 8, JWLES is a rapper who finds inspiration in artists from jazz, 90s rap and the current scene, as well as electro and reggae. His music is innovative, crosses genres and eschews conformity, characterized by vivid lyrics, a unique flow, offbeat punchlines and productions as minimalist as they are versatile. After enjoying promising interest with his album ‘Le Zin & les autres’ in 2022, JWLES released his project ‘Le Zin Dans La Maison’ this year.
Born in Neuchâtel, Switzerland, in 1995, MAIRO is a rapper of Eritrean origin who has been rapping since the age of 13. With his technique, style, flow and choice of prods, in just a few years he has become a much-appreciated artist on the new French-language rap scene. His solo project released in 2017 ‘365‘ put the spotlight on this artist. In just 2 years, Mairo has established himself as one of Geneva’s leading artists, with a Colors Show, his ‘Rougemort’ EP and landmark singles such as ‘Eritriste’ and ‘Coupe gorge‘. 2023 is an important year for the artist and his public. With his EP ‘Omar chappier’, the Geneva-born artist got his first taste of real popularity : 1M streams in a week, a concert at the Maroquinerie in Paris sold out in 24 hours, and the Machine du Moulin Rouge was announced in the same breath.

He registered his name among new talents from 2017 with the release of his 1st project named ‘Philadelphia’ and created with his brother Be Dar, a multi-instrumentalist composer. In 2018, he was spotted by the Mezoued Records label and released ‘Vanités’, a project that enabled him to gain in popularity and secure support slots for Vald’s Zenith tour and Sniper’s concerts in 2019. After several popular projects, Coelho came to the attention of the general public with his participation and place among the finalists in season 2 of Netflix’s competition show ‘Nouvelle Ecole’. He then unveiled his new project ‘Le soleil ne s’éteint jamais’.
MOJI x SBOY is a duo of promising rappers who stand out for their unique style, combining emotions, melodies and a deep universe. These artists are the bearers of a standard, a unique proposition, nurturing huge expectations among an avant-garde public. Their 1st mixtape ‘Temps d’aime’ is released in June 2021, featuring a collaboration with the late Luv Resval. The track ‘Ma go’ was certified a gold single in 2022. That same year, the duo embarked on a tour of France and Belgium, releasing a series of innovative tracks that proved a great success. Continuing their avant-garde and versatile approach, Moji x Siboy released their latest EP this year, ‘Automne’.
